Are you interested in becoming a guardian family?

UPDATE: We have beautiful pups currently held back as potential guardians. When final assessments are completed at 4 months age, they will be made available. Please call on 0455 097 088 if you think that you may be suitable.

Guardian programs allow a dog to live with one family from when they are young, and they don’t need to be rehomed once their breeding career is over.

Our puppy mums will come to our house for mating and to whelp and raise their pups. After she has completed her breeding career, she is desexed, and ownership transferred to you.

We have a small guardian program, and occasionally have a pup whom we wish to keep as a future breeding dog, or an adult girl who may be suitable to go into a guardian or therapy dog role, and come back to us for her last puppy duties.

Our guardian dogs are placed with a small initial contribution towards their training, and we refund that over the tree litters.

If you are approved as a guardian family, we complete an agreement, and provide all the information and support you need to become a Cider Fields Guardian family.

If you decide to join our small guardian program, and we will retain breeding rights for up to 3 litters (girls). Our breeding dogs are a part of our family and spend a lot of time in our home, and are part of our lives. Although they have a particular job to do, first and foremost they need to have a loving home and be part of a family.

The dog remains the legal property of Cider Fields Pty Ltd until the terms and conditions in the guardian agreement have been filled.

Please note that if you change your mind about being guardians after taking delivery of your dog, the Guardian Dog is not available for purchase.

We have wonderful guardian families, and they are a valued member of our puppy families and business.

Occasionally we have a male stud dog whom we will place into a guardian home. We pay to neuter the dog when his breeding career is over. Male stud dogs are only placed in homes near Toowoomba, as they need to be available at short notice sometimes.

We pay for health testing and breeding related expenses. We can provide you with top quality food at wholesale rates.

Guardian homes are responsible for the costs you would have if you purchased a dog - annual vaccinations, general vet bills, monthly tick and flea prevention, grooming, boarding, obedience classes.
